ICTA Certified Bernian Transactional Analysis (BTA)
Transactional Analysis (T A) is a theory of personality and systematic psychotherapy for personal change and personal growth. For a glimpse of understanding TA, we describe TA as a theory, that gives us a picture of how people are structured psychologically. To do so it uses a three-part model known as ego-states model. The same model helps us understand how people functions, how they express their personality in terms of behaviour
TA also has an in-depth theory of child development. The concept of life-script explains how our present life patterns are originated in our childhood. TA develops explanation of how we may continue to re-play childhood strategies in grown-up life, even when these produces self-defeating and painful results. Therefore, TA gives us a theory of psychopathology.
Bernian Transactional Analysis shall be certified by Institute for Counselling and Transactional Analysis (I.C.T.A), an organisation founded by Father George Kandathil at Kochi, Kerala. BTA shall be more focussed on clear objective of promoting Transactional Analysis under the byelaws, convention and procedures of ICTA. BTA shall be more focussed for promoting personnel growth and development through the application of TA. This programme shall also be a model to identify the necessary competence to imply and promote the knowledge of Transactional Analysis in the social environment. Inculcate and encourage professional and ethical practices, to maintain standards in facilitation programme as TA Practitioners. BTA shall be promoting a lot into the research and development of TA. Counselling Skills, Supervisory Skills, Facilitation Skills, Soft Skills, etc are the key objective that the candidate shall be focussing on during the BTA programme, that shall provide a venue for healthy interactions within the society for peaceful coexistence. Compared to the Diploma in Transactional Analysis, BTA will be focussing more on the practical implications of TA in daily life.
Eligibility: Successful ICTA certification and completion of Diploma in Transactional Analysis from ICTA certified facilitator.
